BIO

Kristie Rowe is an acclaimed multidisciplinary artist, painting with oils on large-scale canvases. Her process is informed by a deeply intuitive relationship to pigment, texture and light. The tactility of her work is reflective of her former career in London working with antique textiles, leading to the creation of bespoke couture in Melbourne, where her work was featured in “Voice of a Century: 100 years of Vogue” British Fashion alongside, Galliano and McQueen. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts from UWA and a Diploma in Fashion Design, Sydney, her art practice incorporates innovative visual ideas for site specific storytelling through installation, live performance and film. Nominated for an ACCTA, for Best Costume Design in a Film for Pieces and winner of the WA ScreenCulture Awards for Outstanding Production Design. Winner of the Hangers Choice Award at the Kennedy Art Prize this year with her oil portrait ‘The Shapeshifter’. Kristie’s work has been acquired for public and private collections both Nationally and Internationally.
